by Deepak on January 22, 2010

Ever wondered why your professional email addresses are filled with spam emails everyday without you ever using them to subscribe any list or joining any forum or anything at all. But you may have been using them on your blog page or any other website perhaps. That’s it, your email address on your blog is being used to send you the spam by spam robots. Well don’t worry here I will show you how you can save your email address to get into the spam list.

email spam

Replace (@) with AT and (.) with DOT :
The simplest way of blocking the email spam would be to replace @ with AT and (.) with DOT in your emal address. For e.g. xyz AT gmail DOT com or xyz(at)gmail(dot)com. As you can see the email address will be easily recognizable by humans but will not be taken as email address by spam robots.

Mask your email address:
You can also mask your email address too. Masking an email address involves appending your email address with a word which will stop spam robots but will not have any effect on your human audience. For e.g.

xyz@gmail.com.nospamplease

xyz@gmail.nospam.com

Of course you can add any word that sounds useful to you i normally prefer using .nospam :)

emailcover.com - hide your email addressReplace text with an image:
Well another option is to replace your email text with an image. This is better option than the above two as there is no text there for email harvester to look into. Now you will be thinking how hard it is to get the image version of your email address, well not any more you can create your email address to image at emailcover.com

Well there may be other ways to hide your email address from spam bots, but these are the ones i find easiest.
